Linzer Torte: The Tempting and Flavorful Austrian Tart

When I travel, I make sure that I will learn details and trivia about the locations that I visit. This is why when I went to Austria, I asked my kind tour guide to tell me something that is very entertaining about the country. To give a good answer, she brought me to a diner and ordered a very delectable dessert called Linzer Torte. I was speechless when I had my first bite of that irresistible and sweet Austrian tart. I felt like I was in azure when the tart full of almonds and raspberry jam layered with dough strips melted in my mouth. After I was done with the goody, my tour guide told me some fast details about the Linzer Torte.

I learned that the prominent Austrian goody, which is the oldest tart in the globe, was named after Linz City. The oldest recipe of Linzer Torte was dated back in 1653 and an author of a cookbook spotted this recipe in the Admont Abbey, the oldest remaining lamasery in Styria. As I taste another serving of Linzer Torte, my tourist guide explained to me that the mass production of the dessert was headed by a gentleman named Johann Konrad Vogel.

My flight to Austria was very educational and entertaining. I promise to scrunch another serving of the very delectable Linzer Torte when I go back there!
