A Heavenly Day Filled With Divine Austrian Desserts

One of the best things I like when traveling to different locations is the opportunity to taste the excellent local delicacies. During a voyage to Austria, I and my companion were given the chance to savor the delicious Cheese Danish, or commonly called as "Topfenkolatsche" according to the friendly locals. The divine Cheese Danish, along with the apple strudel, is considered as one of the most noted desserts in Austria. The Cheese Danish is actually a thin, wafer-like strudel pastry stuffed with succulent raisins and scrumptious cheese fillings. I and my companion enjoyed the sweet Cheese Danish so much that we had to order for a second serving and another cup of bona fide Austrian coffee to end the delightful meal. We were about to go back to our hotel room when we passed by a picturesque coffee shop with a deliciously sweet essence. I simply could not resist the appetizing aroma so I persuaded my companion to go inside the coffee shop with me to sample their desserts. The dish that I liked deeply was the "Vanillekipferl," a divine and crisp vanilla-flavored cookie shaped like a quarter moon. At the end, I and my companion ended up with a big bag of "Vannillekipferl" to take home, with extra bits of crunchy almonds and savory hazelnuts.
