Autumn Eat Fiesta in the Austrian Woods

Family days are ever jubilant days, where ever you may be in the world. Austria is highly forested, so family days are mainly celebrated in the woods where delicious dishes and fun activities are shared amid the biting autumn weather. Although the Austrian government consents food hunting in most of its public forests, autumn family galas have been carried out under strict guidelines and rules protecting the richness of the country's natural resources. Such rules that include a two-kilo brim of mushrooms per family and a hunting license to enjoy the wild game hunting activity, form an opportunity for more families to share feast-full holiday in the woods.

So if dad is a registered hunter or forester, it would be a pleasure to watch him race wild game such as boar, rabbit, deer, duck, pheasant, and prepare his find for a hearty, flavorful yet low in fat dish. Mom, as always, is delegated in the kitchen, concocting official Austrian dishes made from the finest, all natural products of the forest like wild berries, pumpkins, mushrooms, and anything that hunter dad could get his hands on. Aside from running around the unique species of bushes and trees tirelessly, the kids are treated to the delightful pleasure of berrying and mushrooming, both of which could bring them delicious cooking of blueberry pancakes and mushroom Gulyas later on.

The Brilliant Account of Swiss Army Knives

There is nothing in the world like the wildly favorite Swiss Army knife, which is in large use in Switzerland and beyond. Unknowingly, this lot of multifunctional gadget was invented in 1891 by the genius Karl Eisner who used his desire to provide the Swiss Army with a tool not manufactured by Germans as his motivation. The first of its kind was made with a wooden material carrying basic army gadgets such as blades, screwdrivers, and can openers, and it was only after a series of careful thinking that he made thrilling revisions, putting more tools in the process and using an aluminum base instead. It was first called the Soldier's knife and was later given its Swiss identity as the most functional gadget anybody, even those not with the army, will find instrumental.

Many Swiss Army knife manufacturers created variations to the gadget by putting different tools together, which is acceptable as long as it serves its original purpose and that is to provide numerous ready solutions with just a single object. The Swiss Army knife is an fitting company for people who love outdoor activities such as camping and hunting because it is very instrumental and light to carry around anywhere.

Adoring the Legitimate Austrian Wintersport

Jim was a devoted Austrian acquaintance who invited me to his country. He brought me to several locales, from the rainforests to the beaches, and never literally got tired of narrating story after story behind the charming places. Then, one frosty winter morning, he dragged me out of my bed to willingly introduce me to "an escapade that occupies his life." As I stifled a yawn, I instanteneoulsy dressed up and animatedly went with him. Only then did I distinguish a bag of boots, shovels, gloves, and helmet. With that scene, I had guessed what was going to follow.

We instantaneously drove off to a beautiful skiing resort. According to Jim, since I was spending some time in Austria, it would be his elation to look at me experiencing the fun of skiing. When we arrived at the skiing resort, I was entertained by the number of Austrians who were graciously gliding over the snow. There were various of them who actually looked as if flying. Jim, then and there, bestowed on me a helmet, a pair of boots, gloves, and skis. Even if I was not excellent at skiing, I wore them and executed an Austrian glide. Now, I figure out why a local couldn't be called a legitimate Austrian if he doesn't know to ski.

During the skiing exploit, I also noticed how organized and unsullied the resort was. Jim later told me that the resort was all natural and there was not even a single contrived skiing resort in the moving Austrian Alps. That is why many foreigners from all over the world keep coming back to Austria to do the renowned wintersport.

A Remarkable Home-made Austrian Banquet

They say that a getaway to Austria is not complete, without eating the local delicacies, such as the Schnitzel, a meat cutlet usually sauteed or breaded, and the Leberknödel Suppe, a soup mixed with liver dumplings. So when a colleague of mine welcomed me to a dinner at his house in Vienna, Austria, I immediately said yes.

Based on a quest I did prior to our expedition dinner guests in Austria are advised to bring flowers, so I bought a bouquet of blue iris from a nearby flower shop. I must say that Austrians are very warm and caring especially to their guests, not to mention their serving of mouthwatering dishes to their beloved visitors.

To make the long story short, my chum was delighted to have me sample a scrumptious Austrian dinner. The first entree for that night was a hot Leberknödel Suppe, stuffed with delicious liver dumplings -- a common in Austrian meals. My taste buds were then treated to a mouthwatering plate of Tafelspitz, a classic dish of beef, tenderly boiled and covered with apple-horseradish sauce, with home-fried potatoes on the side. Since my Austrian chum knew that I have a notable sweet tooth so to speak, he offered me a slice of Dobostorte, a vanilla sponge cake topped with glazes of apricot and chocolate. Afterward, we swigged down a few cups of Melange, a traditional coffee made with half-steamed milk and with whipped cream on top, to end a perfect dinner. I would say that so far, that was my most magnificent Austrian dining event.

The Distinguished and Great Austrian Fashion Awards

I really cherish clothing and shopping – a true blue fashionista if I may say. Being a fashionista is not as easy as it sounds -- you have to check out tons of magazines for the up-to-date styles and fashion trends, buy stylish clothes as well as watch different fashion weeks. As such, I adore traveling to different countries in order to get a glimpse of what each region has in store in terms of fashion.

It was such a privilege to be welcomed in the distinguished Austrian Fashion Awards last year. I already attended numerous fashion awards from different countries and I have to admit that I really loved the experience. The annual fashion week is a site for aspiring as well as famous fashion designers to showcase their creations and it is also a chance for me to know the latest trends. I am really looking forward for the Austrian Fashion Awards this year and I hope that numerous designers will be able to show off their charming creations.

I believe that everyone has a right to be attractive and gorgeous regardless of what brands we wear. Our clothes reflect our personality and it is a time for us to express our feelings, so I advice people to let out their creative juices and be innovative in their dress.
